Nanna may not need a knitting pattern to make a lovely cardigan, but don’t let that put you off. Whether you’re a novice or just want help with a new type of garment, a knitting pattern can be extremely helpful.

But what types of things can you knit?

Scarves – an old favourite and a great place to start. Everyone in the family loves them, so you can keep the entire brood wrapped up warm come winter.

Hats – Chilly ears are no fun and neither are youngsters with a cold. Hats are again one for the whole family and they keep the heat in when you need it most.

Gloves and Mittens – These are fun items to knit, especially as you can have great fun experimenting with different colours. Plus, they make a lovely gift for new arrivals.

Bags – Many people want to know how to knit a bag, but think it’ll be beyond their skills. However, I always tell them not to be scared. They are relatively straightforward with a knitting pattern and are a great one to experiment with.

Jumpers – On a cold day, curled up on the sofa, there’s little more comforting than a big knitted jumper. Not only that, but jumpers tend to be very expensive to buy in shops.

Blankets – Whether you’re knitting for a baby, an elderly relative or even yourself, a blanket is a comforting and warm item for any cold evening.

Cardigans – Cardigans, once associated purely with older generations, have become extremely popular with younger groups, including adults and kids. Go into any modern clothing store and you’ll see what I mean.

Toys – Knitting toys may seem difficult, but knitting patterns make the process much simpler. They are also an extremely well-appreciated personal gift for younger children.

Baby shower help. Please?

Hi. My coworkers and family are throwing me a baby shower in about 3 weeks. Since they won’t let me be do anything but “show up”, I would really like to do something to say thank you. So I wanted to make gift favors. I found a cute Christian thank you verse that I’m gonna print out and make into notes to hang off of the gift bags, and I wanna have Hershey kisses. Anyone have any ideas as to what else I should put in the bag. I’m really working on a budget, and can’t afford to get personalized mint jars (??) or anything like that, but would really like to make this special.
I read some people put together a bag of stuff they craved durin their pregnancy.. But I didn’t really crave that many things… So I’m lost… Help.. Ideas.. Website links. Thanks in advance.

I need help with baby shower invites.?

I made my own baby shower invites 4 years ago. they had a mutli colored umbrella and across the top read ” April showers bring May flowers ” ( Shower was the end of April and I was due the first week of May ).
I am helping my little sister plan my baby shower this time around and it will be held the end of October ( with me being due the day after Thanksgiving ). Problem is we can’t think of any cute woprding to place on the invites as I did with the last ones.

Rubber ducky baby shower theme… need some help!?

I am planning a baby shower for my sister with a rubber ducky theme. They do not know what they are having, but I am trying to think of way to decorate the room we are using. I have thought of center pieces for the table by getting yellow metal tubs to put floating ducks in, and I’m trying to think of other ways around the room to display rubber ducks… any ideas?? I’m trying to be creative, along the way i’ve picked up lots of duck books, and also clothes, blankets, etc…
